BIOGRAPHY

​

Born in Johannesburg in 1981 and moved to Pretoria where I attended school from 1990, even from a young age I had a deep love for being creative. My Grandma was a dressmaker and I learned a lot from her, as the eldest grandchild I learned sawing, needlework, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, weaving and more.

 

In high school I had art as one of my major subjects but unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to study art after school. I never lost my love for art and started to work as a picture framer in 2000 and have sins met and learned a lot from many artists that I had the privilege of meeting in the process.

 

I see myself as a miniaturist especially working with my mixed-media works. I previously worked in oil paint and drawing up until 2013 when I decided that I would love to start experimenting with works in mixed media I found that I mostly enjoyed working with paper and mixed it with traditional, fabric techniques that I learned when I was young. Most of my works revolve around the concept of fairy tales, fables, folklore, myths and mythology. But having a strong opinion on other subjects like environmental, psychological, animal Activism also attracts me to produce art.
